Planting officially started today. Three tomato varieties, two pepper varieties, and some artichokes are started on the rack, under lights. Last year, I found that the heat pads weren't required and had good luck with just the lights.
Couple new things we are trying out this year:
90 seeds have been started in the encasement you see pictured above. Assuming these will need to be transplanted to a larger plant prior to planting outside, I'm hopeful that we can transplant these directly into a small greenhouse. Half of these are tomatoes and the other half are peppers. Peppers that have been started inside never seem to make the transplant outside well, so hopefully this will prove more effective for them.
This will be the first year we try to grow artichokes.
Asparagus seeds are soaking for planting Monday or Tuesday of this week. This will be the first year we try asparagus as well.

Stay tuned for more planting progress over the next couple of weeks.
I made your pancake recipe today, they were delicious! I topped them with the mixed berry chia jam recipe you shared with me this summer.
