Finally, the weather seems like it could potentially remain above freezing! Which means...planting day finally came! The best of days!

While tomato varieties, artichokes, peppers varieties, asparagus, and a few other plants were started in the basement (pictured above, from about a month ago), we planted many other veggies from seed or sprout.
Getting the started plants to the land proved interesting and took two very full cars.

Along with these, we planted multiple types of potatoes, sweet potatoes, beans, peas, broccoli, brussel sprouts, soy beans, a couple varieties of melons, cucumbers, squash varieties, tri-colored carrots, collard greens, lettuce varieties, kale, and golden and red beets. We left some room for the pepper plants that we want to give a bit more time to grow before transplanting.
We anticipate learning a lot this year about what thrives in the area, what animals we are up against, as well as how we can improve the planting, harvesting, and washing/packing process. Keep your fingers crossed that we have a good growing season and have lots to share here!
Looks like a successful planting day! Looking forward to updates on your growing season 😊
