This spring we have hopes to graft some new fruit trees. Grafting a tree is taking a piece of an existing tree (scion) and attaching it to receptive root stock. The receptive root stock has been ordered and the scions have been cut from some of my parent's existing apple trees.

Some time in April, we will actually graft the trees. More pictures and description of the actual process to come at that time. If interested, a quick google searching returns many step-by-step guides on grafting trees.
The other news this week is that I received a scholarship to attend the MOSES conference. I'm really looking forward to hearing about others' experiences and hopefully learn more about how to turn the land organic through some of the early successes of other local organic farmers.
Congratulations on the scholarship!
I made sauce with your canned tomatoes. Nothing like homemade canned tomatoes for a little taste of summer-delicious!
